Phenomenal
Liumin is the second release for Echospace, The collaboration of midwest Dub-Techno greats Rod Modell and Steve Hitchell. We hear a definitive change on Liumin from their past effort The Coldest Season (2007). The compositions here are much warmer and less arid. The main focus in production is field recordings taken in Tokyo during past tours. This makes for a uniquely layered work for this genre. Not quite a traditional dub sound but based more in ambient and minimal techno. The release comes with a bonus 2nd CD made up of beat-less ambient pieces composed using the same field recordings.Pick: Burnt Sage
