I lost interest in Real Estate a while back. Call me crazy, but I felt like it was lacking. Just a little bit. Just enough for me to get bored. It kinda just jammed out the same riffs for a while on each track. There wasn't much for me in terms of structure and dynamics. I know that's harsh but this new album has really brought my attention back to these fellas. It has what I wasn't getting before. I think a big factor in its quality is the fact that Domino released it. That's right, Real Estate got called up to the majors and signed to Domino Records. They kept the charm that came with the Underwater Peoples (Sky Socks) releases but cleaned it up a little bit. The real money is in the tonal choices, vocal harmonies, and swaying yet on point song structure. That's the kind of stuff I like. The tempo change in "All the Same" is pretty cool too.
