Fly Pan Am was a post rock band out of Montreal, and thus contains members of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Shalabai Effect. Their sound was a bit different though, using electronic manipulation to alter the sound of some of their material. This is my favorite of theirs (their other two albums didn't hook me, and I just got the Sédatif En Fréquences Et Sillons EP on vinyl the other day). Oh, and it will sound like it's skipping at times. Yes, that is the way it's supposed to sound.
