A supergroup of sorts, Risil boasts a line-up of Guillermo Scott Herren (Prefuse 73, Savath & Savallas, Diamond Watch Wrists, Delarosa & Asora, A Cloud Mireya, Piano Overlord), Zach Hill (Hella, Diamond Watch Wrists, The Bygones, Nervous Cop, Goon Moon, The Ladies, Holy Smoke, Team Sleep), Tyondai Braxton (Battles), John McEntire (Tortoise, Bastro, My Dad Is Dead, Gastr del Sol, The Sea and Cake, Exploding Star Orchestra) Alejandra Dehza (School of Seven Bells) Eva Puyuelo Muns (Savath & Savallas). With that being said it's hard to pin down exactly where this release would fall. The process for the recording was meant to be an improvisational outlet for all the musician to freely collaborate. It turns out that these 14 recordings were picked from 50. A mind blowing undertaking full of varied results.
