Finally, something that is truly lit. rock!
Julian Plenti is the alter ego assumed by Paul (Julian) Banks of Interpol in his first and only solo effort (2009).
The lack of atmosphere on this album has been a point of criticism for some, but I think Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper is far more adventurous than anything else Banks has ever put out, while it does exist on a barren kind of landscape. The lack of so-called atmosphere allows for Banks' or Plenti's, always, well-crafted lyrics to bear a good deal of the weight of the album and thus this album should rightly be considered an example of lit. rock!
