I know this is my second post within a day, but I've been listening to this album quite a bit lately.
This album is in a sort of limbo in Jason Molina's discography since he declares Didn't It Rain as the last official Songs: Ohia release, fragmenting Magnolia Electric Co. as a seperate band and therefore this as their S/T. Out of respect for the band and Jason Molina I'm putting it up as he wants it to be.
This album is much different from Jason's work in Songs: Ohia stylistically in that it's more of a country album. I believe one of the best alt. country releases ever put out. It boasts a Metacritic score of 8.2/10, and an allmusic score of 4/5 stars, and also being compared to Bob Dylan's release Bringing It All Back Home.
Essentially if you're into Songs: Ohia (or any other incantation of Jason Molina) then you'll probably love this album, and you'll probably really like it if you're into country at all. It might even change your mind about the genre.
Magnolia Electric Co.- S/T
