Thao Nguyen is the centerfold of this folk rock indie fairy tale. Thao’s voice is wicked, ravishing, and sweet in its own way. Her voice is the spotlight, it is that of a little girl maturing and growing old. Backed by The Get Down Stay Down, who are a perfect match; they are folky at times, but throw down when necessary. We Brave Bee Stings and All is a must hear for anyone who enjoys a female vocalist who can make your spine tingle and hairs stand on end. At moments Thao is reminiscent of Victoria Vaughn, sexy and powerful.
